Book Launching Event

You, your company and all of your friends are cordially invited to take part in the book launching of the art & poetry book When Hephaestus Fell & other poems. The book launching will take place on March 13, 2009, 7 PM-9 PM, at Kukuk’s Nest, Gorordo Ave., Lahug, Cebu City.





About the Book

Concept and content:When Hephaestus Fell & other poems” is an art & poetry chapbook celebrating the triumph of hope in times of adversity, the strength of the will and the person’s enduring spirit in times of struggle. It contains 50 poems and 25 artworks on the pain and pleasures of self-definition, love, memories, societal contradictions, self-expression, spirituality, and the process of forging strong guiding principles to live by. It also contains other poems by featured poets.









About Lightbulb Publishing

Lightbulb Publishing is an independent publishing partnership started by the authors of the book with the vision of sharing and fostering creativity in the youth in the realms of art and literature. This book is the first step towards that vision. They are also planning to scout and publish young talents from all over Cebu by the end of 2009.

The Partners

Sarah Tampus Cabrera is a law student of UP Diliman College of Law and a graduate of BA Psychology from the UP Visayas, Cebu College. She is a member of the UP Portia Sorority in UP Law and has served as a Councilor in the UP Diliman University Student Council of 2007-2008. She has been writing poetry for 10 years now.

Christian Yonson Galinato is a Fine Arts graduate of UP Visayas, Cebu College and is the 1st prize awardee of the prestigious Jose Joya Award of 2002. He is one of the founding members of Andres, an inter-collegiate cultural organization in Cebu.


They both share the passion for artistic and poetic expression.



About the Launching

The book launching will be held at Kukuk’s Nest, Gorordo Ave., Lahug, Cebu City, 7 PM, on March 13, 2009. The event will involve poetry reading of 10 poems from the book (by different readers), intermission performances by young musicians and performance artists, and will culminate with an open-mic poetry reading. There will also be a call for submissions of poetry, short-stories and artworks for the next chapbook. Approximately 100-150 people are expected to attend, coming from schools and universities all over Cebu. Cocktails will be served.
